Deleting a workspace removes the workspace and everything in it. Only the owner can do it, and it cannot be undone.
This is permanent. There is no Trash for a workspace and no restore. Export your data first – see Export your data.

What gets deleted

Everything the workspace owns: Every member loses access immediately. Anyone still in the app sees a message saying the workspace was deleted, rather than a broken screen. The subscription is cancelled as part of the deletion, so you are not charged again for a workspace that no longer exists.

What survives

Two things are kept, and neither is reachable from the app:
  • The audit trail, because it records the deletion itself. Erasing it would erase the evidence that the deletion happened.
  • The billing history, because it is a financial record with its own retention requirement.
Neither contains your clients, projects, tasks, hours or invoices.

Before you delete

1

Export your data

Settings → Export → Export all data. Exports is a Pro feature, so do this while the workspace is still on Pro. See Export your data.
2

Download any invoice PDFs you need

Invoices you have sent to clients are part of your financial records.
3

Tell your team

Everyone loses access the moment you confirm.
4

Consider the alternatives

If you only want to stop paying, cancel the subscription instead – the workspace stays on Free and nothing is deleted. If you personally want out, leave the workspace.

How to delete a workspace

1

Open Settings → Danger zone

It is the last item in the settings menu, under a separator. It only appears for the workspace owner.
2

Click Delete workspace

The card is titled Delete this workspace – “Permanently removes the workspace, its members, and invites. This can’t be undone.”
3

Read the confirmation

The modal is headed “Delete”, followed by the workspace name, and states that the action is permanent.
4

Type the workspace name

The name is shown in a copy-ready chip with a copy button. Copy it, paste it into the field, and the Delete workspace button enables. It stays disabled until the text matches exactly.
5

Confirm

Click Delete workspace. You are taken to your workspace list, with a message confirming which workspace was deleted.

Example

Maya Ellis is closing Northwind Studio.
  1. She exports everything from Settings → Export and saves the bundle to her own drive.
  2. She tells Tom, Priya, Daniel, Sarah, Jonas and Ana the date.
  3. On the day, she opens Settings → Danger zone and clicks Delete workspace.
  4. The modal asks her to type Northwind Studio. She uses the copy button, pastes it, and confirms.
  5. She lands on her workspace list. Northwind is gone.
  6. Sarah, mid-timer in another tab, sees a message telling her the workspace was deleted.
  7. The Pro subscription is cancelled automatically. Nothing renews.

Permissions

This is the one capability that separates Owner from Admin. An Admin holds every other permission in the workspace and still cannot delete it. workspace.delete is also owner-exclusive: it can never be granted to a custom role, not even one built to look like an admin. That closes the path where an admin creates a role that can delete the workspace. If you are not the owner, Danger zone does not appear in your settings menu.
If the current owner has left, transfer ownership to the person who should hold it, then delete from that account.

What happens next

  • You are redirected to your workspace list at once.
  • Every member loses access immediately, and sees a message explaining why.
  • The workspace URL stops working.
  • The subscription is cancelled – no further charges.
  • The rest of the workspace’s records are removed in the background, in stages, until nothing is left.

Common questions

No. There is no Trash for a workspace.
No. Only the owner. It is the single permission an admin does not have.
The subscription is cancelled so nothing renews. Check the billing portal for the state of the period you already paid for.
No. Deleting the workspace cancels it for you.
Nothing. Each workspace is separate, with its own members, data and plan.
A message telling them the workspace was deleted, rather than an error or an empty screen.
Treat a deleted URL as gone. Create the new workspace with a new name and slug.
Yes. Cancel the subscription. The workspace moves to Free, everyone keeps working, and nothing is deleted. See Cancel or downgrade.
Leave the workspace instead, or transfer ownership first. See Leave a workspace.
